With this classic American conversation game I started my online class today. I asked every participant – we were a small group of five- to quickly answer 10 This or That Questions (www.ponly.com) giving a reason. They had to stick to the order presented on the Website otherwise students often waste a lot of valuabel speaking time looking through and picking questions. If you ask them to tackle what’s given, they also train spontaneity and flexible thinking. Super simple, no preparation time and you learn a lot about your students. Of course, as a teacher you should join in with these type of exercises. After all, your students want to learn something about you, too.
